SMART RAT Pack

From Desert Storm to 21st Century EMS

Whilst commanding a forward tactical medical section during the first Gulf conflict the likelihood of a Multiple Casualty Incident (M.C.I.) was high. I realised that dealing with an M.C.I. both in a conventional or Hazmat scenario would quickly deplete my resources.

How could I or any one of my medics carry enough basic life saving equipment into the scene and still function efficiently? Using spent ammunition bandoliers, to hold life saving equipment, which could be utilised by either my medics or uninjured survivors we had solved the problem. Suddenly a section of 5 medics could carry over 50 dressing in a way which did not restrict movement even in chemical protective suits.

This had led us to develop the Smart Rapid Aid and Treatment Pack™ focusing on the management of multiple casualties at the site of the incident and fitting perfectly with the START principle.

The risks the 21st Century places on civilian rescue workers are similar to those faced by the military medic. Multiple casualties in a hazardous environment requires appropriate levels of life saving equipment that can be transported and utilised with maximum efficiency.

The Smart R.A.T. Pack™ gives the 21st Century rescue personnel, a system proved to work by military medics in the harshest environments.

I believe that the use of the Smart R.A.T. Pack™ will significantly decrease preventable death at the scene of an M.C.I.
