TSG Associates was established in 1993 but its origins go a little further back. During the 1980s, working as a military medic, Colin Smart became aware of the need for a pocket size, aide-mémoire for paramedics. As no suitable product was available, he designed the SMART Medi-Memo.
As a result of our innovation, TSG began working more closely with UK ambulance services and worldwide emergency organizations. In 1996, we were approached to produce an incident management system that would enable rescue services to provide a systematic, structured response to multiple casualty incidents.
Using Colin's first hand knowledge, backed up by our emergency services' experiences of mass transit incidents and terrorist situations; we launched the pioneering SMART Incident Command System.
We have continued to develop the initial concept to create an intuitive, scalable, practical incident management system that allows rescuers to command and control all types of emergency, and maximize the number of survivors.
Today, the SMART Incident Command System is used by British military and civilian services, is integrated into the New York State disaster preparedness plan, has been state mandated by Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois and North Carolina and is standard issue in high-risk regions world-wide.
We are also socially conscious, working with The Halo Trust and The Dogs Trust Leeds as well as supporting local organizations such as Siddall Rugby club.
